I am wondering if you have any good ideas, that actually work, on how to get the party guests to sit while the birthday girl is opening her presents without crawling all over each other AND her so that they ‘can see’? I have tried a chair. I have tried the hula hoop distance marker. I have tried having each gift giver sit by her while she opens the gift from her. In the end, none have worked. Maybe it’s impossible?
I would suggest having your daughter sit in a special “Birthday Girl” chair in the center of a circle. I would also have little chairs for the guests to sit on in a circle around your daughter, with one special chair also placed in the center of the circle. Take a present and ask the group who brought the gift. Whoever raises her hand, have her sit in the second chair in the circle. That way the gift giver has the best view of the gift being opened. Everyone else has a seat in a circle where they can all view the opening of the gift as well. Make sure you have additional adult supervision to remind everyone to remain seated as well.
