What kid doesn’t love chocolate? There may be a few, but most simply adore the stuff. Hosting a chocolate-themed party is perfect for a Valentine’s Day party or a slumber party. Chocolate is yummy, sweet, and easy to incorporate into activities to fill the time. Kids will be lining up for this sweet feast!
The whole party will revolve around chocolate!
Fingerpaint with chocolate!
Play Guess the Chocolate. Place the different chocolate bar wrappers up on a board, and have the kids write the names of the candies based on the wrapper alone!
Make up an “Ode to Chocolate” as a group activity.
Have a chocolate quiz. Read a short History of Chocolate, and put together some facts and myths so the kids can learn a bit more about this treat.
Show the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie.
Make a chocolate pizza.
Dip fruit, pieces of cake, marshmallows, and pretzels into chocolate fondue. Yum!
Make white, dark, and milk chocolate candies. Purchase small candy molds and have the kids make different candies.
Make a traditional double chocolate cake.
Lay out a hot chocolate bar where kids can top their warm cocoa with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and cinnamon sticks. Have a large pitcher of water on hand, as well as milk for drink alternatives.
Send the kids home with a bag full of chocolate, perhaps the goodies they made at the party.
Enjoy!
