How Many Cupcakes are Enough?

I am having a party with eighteen children and adults attending, and I want to serve cupcakes. How many cupcakes should I make?

The key to this question is: will you be setting out a plate of cupcakes for the guests to help themselves to, or will you be serving the cupcakes yourself? If it is the former, some guests will probably eat more than one, and you may want to make two cupcakes for each person. If you are going to serve the cupcakes, one per guest is enough since you will hand them out and take the plate away. Decide how you want to serve the cupcakes to know your numbers!
