This has recently become a hot topic ~ especially among adults who receive a gift that is nice, but not really something they really want to keep for themselves. The majority of people say they do, in fact, take the opportunity to re-gift the present when it arises. This is all well and good, but what about kids’ party gifts?
It seems to be even more appropriate to re-gift kids’ party presents. This is for a couple of reasons:
1. Kids could already have the exact same thing or 3 to 5 things that are very similar.
2. Although well-meaning, your kid may receive a present that they played with ages ago and have outgrown.
3. Your kid received so many gifts on her birthday, she will never be able to play with every one of them let alone appreciate them.
All of these instances prove fertile ground for the re-gifting solution. Only one word-of-advice, with all of the presents coming in, take note of which gift came from whom so you don’t make the major mistake of re-gifting to the kid who originally gave you the gift!
What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts on re-gifting kids’ gifts.
