An adaptation of Where_The_Wild_Things_AreMaurice Sendak’s beloved childhood book Where the Wild Things Are hit movie theaters recently. How awesome is this movie? Check out the trailer here. As you may know, Where the Wild Things Are is the story of Max, a little boy who is sent to bed without dinner for being naughty. Once in his room, he creates his own world: a forest with wild creatures that crown him as their ruler. The story is full of creativity, imagination, and love, and it will be awesome to see director Spike Jonze bring it to life on the big screen.

Where the Wild Things Are would make an excellent party theme full of creatures, mischief, and wild things for Halloween this year.  And if  you somehow have made it this far without reading the book, check it out on Amazon.  It is truly a classic in the best sense of the word. You can also get the Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack and let your kids do a wild dance.

Check out Party Perfect for a wonderful Where the Wild Things Are Party Plan that is full of fun ideas to bring this party to life.  Alternatively, Creative Parties and Inspiration also showcases even more party ideas to bring the book to life!

Another great idea is to take a Jungle-themed party and spoof it to make it like the wild things.  Looking for “wild things” for your favorite Max?  Amazon has you covered.

  1. This is my 2-year-old’s (and my) favorite childhood book. We actually threw him a ‘Where the Wild Things Are Party’ in May for his 2nd birthday party. Such a fun theme and it was rather easy to decorate with palm trees and jungle accessories. The kids had a wonderful time and the parents remembered their childhood.
