Have a water balloon fight! Play Water Balloon Volleyball: You′ll need lots of water balloons stored in a bucket full of water and towels for each pair of children. Divide children into two groups. Pair them off and give each pair a beach towel. One side begins by placing a water balloon in the center of their towel. Each child holds onto one two corners of the towel in their hands. The object is to toss the water balloon over the net with the opposing side catching the balloon in their towel. The volley continues until one side misses and the balloon breaks giving the other team a point. First team to 15 wins.

Circus Party for Kids
Amount of Time: 5 to 15 hours
Budget: $200 - $750
Age Group: 3 to 10 years old
Number of Guests: 10 to 30 kids
Indoor/Outdoor: Either is good. If inside, make sure you have a big space. A good party to throw at an outside venue like a community center.
Special Notes:
This is a great summer outdoors party and is a theme that will work well from toddlers to school-aged kids. Also, if you have to invite the whole class, this works really well with large groups of kids...after all it′s the circus! You definitely will want to get some help, however, if you have more than 15 kids attending.
This party can become expensive if you hire a clown and/or a moonbounce. Still, the clown can take up the majority of activities and entertainment and so the additional cost would then be the food and goody bags. If you conduct the games and activities on your own, it will significantly reduce the cost of this party. So, this will suit many different budgets. Reducing the number of guests will also reduce the costs of the party as well.
Check out Birthday in a Box to gather select thematic goods, like red clown noses.

Fun Fringe
Looking for ways to dress up your next party with creative flair? Skip the streamers this year and go for the Fringe! Party Partner′s Fun Fringe is a wonderful party item that can make any party perk up with fun on any item, anywhere.
As Chic Décor:
- Use Fun Fringe to gussy up your party hats. Simply take your party hats and a glue gun and fringe the hats in any color to match. Place a fringe pom pom at the top of the hat to top it off.
- Outline the front entrance to your party with Fun Fringe to welcome your party guests.
- Cut out festive decorations from thick cardboard to match your theme (stars, barnyard animals, and hearts) are just a few examples, outline with Fun Fringe, and hang on your party walls.
- Festoon the birthday child′s special chair with Fun Fringe. Using the Fringe, rope the seat of the chair with one color and the back of the chair with another for a festive birthday seat!
- Use a doorway that leads from one party room to the next, and hang the Fringe thickly in the doorway for guests to pass through.
- Use Fun Fringe to add pizzazz to your presents. Use plain brown paper (i.e. grocery bags work well) to wrap your gift and then wrap Fun Fringe around it as a ribbon decoration. Festive!
- Decorate your party cups and plates with Fun Fringe. Using a glue gun, place the Fringe around the rims for added décor to your party ware.
- Outline the edge of your party table with Fun Fringe.
- Handing out large lollipops for a goody? Wrap the Fun Fringe around the stick for added color and festivity. (This can be done on anything that has a stick, including magic and princess wands.)
- Use the Fun Fringe to costume your guests with boas they can wear around their necks during your party?
For some Fringe-ful Fun Activities for the Kids:
- Use the Fun Fringe to play games; it can be used as a birthday jump rope if looking for a playground activity for your party.
- Fun Fringe can be used to mummify guests. Divide the kids into two teams, and provide a packet of Fun Fringe to each team. See which team can use the Fringe to mummify a team member fastest.
- String small donuts on to the Fun Fringe. Hang it between two trees outdoors and have a donut eating contest!
- Make the Fun Fringe into bracelets, necklaces, or headband as a craft party activity!
- Fun Fringe can serve as a flag in the classic Capture the Flag game. Cut a piece of heavy cardstock out into a flag shape and wrap the Fun Fringe around the shape for a bright flag that everyone can see when they seek to capture it!
Fun Fringe is such a versatile party item that can be used when party planning for decorating, present wrapping, and party activities galore.
Have Fun with the Fringe!

Quick Tips for Throwing a Half Birthday Party
Does your child have a birthday in December, January, or February? Do you live in a place where it happens to be winter during these months? If so, you, most likely, are indoors celebrating...whether it be your home or an alternative venue...how many winter kids dream of a great outdoors party to celebrate ~ at least once during their childhood?
Here are some tips for celebrating a half birthday:
- Send out a half invitation…using one side of a card. Name it a "Half Birthday Party!"
- The party theme has to be something that goes well outdoors: swimming, camping, a Luau, beach, etc.
- Serve half foods, i.e. half a pizza, half sandwiches, deviled eggs, half gallon ice cream, half a birthday cake.
- Break popular party foods in half: brownies, cupcakes, donuts, fruits, veggies, etc.
- If swimming, make the kids wait a half hour before going into the pool. Play games during this time.
- Hold a half treasure hunt, hide one half of plastic Easter eggs with half-sized candy bars.
- Play one-legged and one armed relay races.
- If girls are attending (or it′s an all-girl party) paint half of their nails.
- Ask guests to bring half a birthday present, and half wrap them.
- Fill goody cups half-full.
Hope the party is half as fun as the regular one!!

Beach Pails
This summer, use beach pails for your loot bags. This works especially well if the party is taking place at the beach or is a swimming or oceanic theme. They are bright, inexpensive, and festive. Better yet, they will be used by the kids in future!
Make sure to write the kids′ names on the pails so they can easily be given out. | |
